Pelmatojulus ligulatus - Amber banded millipede
Size - mediumSource - wcCountry of Origin - AfricaTemp 24-28c Humidity 80-90%
This is a gorgeous species which is relatively easy for beginners as long as the correct care needs are met. They require temps of 24c-28c and a humidity of at least 90%. One extremely important thing regarding their diet is that this millipede species rarely if ever accepts fruit or vegetables, preferring to feed exclusively on rotting wood and leaves which they consume in huge amounts. They are known to breed in captivity, however the young must have access to wood and leaves throughout all levels of the substrate to have any chance of success.
